15-9 Hunting

POLICY MEMORANDUM

Issue:

HUNTING

Policy Memorandum No.:

15-9

Last Reviewed:

16 July 2019

POLICY:

Canada has a strong tradition of hunting, trapping, and fishing. This tradition must be respected, maintained, and enhanced. Obstacles to hunting need to be removed, including restrictions on the types of weapons used for hunting.

RATIONALE AND DISCUSSION:

The CCFR believes that the strong tradition of hunting in Canada ought to be maintained. The CCFR seeks to promote all forms of responsible hunting, including bow & arrow, centre-fire, black powder, and handgun hunting (which existed in Canada until the 1960s).
