2020 CCFR Director Elections

It's that time of year again!! Each year we hold elections for half of our provincial director positions. This is a volunteer position and each term is for two years unless otherwise indicated.  Things are a little different this year as Covid_19 has impacted every Canadian from coast to coast. The AGM will be completely virtual this year and more on that will be provided in the coming weeks as we strive to ensure we are inclusive of all our members across the country.

At the CCFR it is important to us to not get in a rut with having the same leadership team for years, if not decades. This fosters an unhealthy environment and leads to individuals growing hungry for power over an organization. At the same time, there is great value in having some directors remain on for consistency and to add some historical elements. For these reasons, each year we have half of our Director seats come open for election at the AGM.

For those interested in taking a more active role in advocacy, here's everything you need to know:

First - here are the provincial director seats that are up for nomination this AGM.

  •  British Columbia - 1 seat
  • Alberta - 1 seat
  • Saskatchewan - 1 seat
  • Manitoba - 1 seat
  • Ontario - 2 seats (one was vacated early) *two directors will be elected, the one with the most votes will take the usual 2 year term, the next most votes will take the remainder of the vacated seat (1 year term)
  • Quebec - 1 seat
  • New Brunswick/Newfoundland/PEI - 1 seat
  • Yukon/NWT/Nunavut - 1 seat
