RANGE SAFETY OFFICER TRAINING PROGRAM

WE OFFER TWO COURSES THROUGH THE CCFR RSO TRAINING PROGRAM

RSO TRAINING COURSE:

OVERVIEW

The CCFR Range Safety Officer course is a one-day program designed to take you through everything you need to know to act as a RSO. Although each range will have their own individual rules and procedures, this course can help you complement, enhance, and introduce you to the best practices for working in a gun club environment. Through this course you will receive the foundation of running the firing line for the safety and enjoyment of all.

  • Malfunctions
  • Equipment
  • Immediate Actions
  • Range Construction

BENEFITS INCLUDE

  • Content created by an experienced firearms instructor with military background

PREREQUISITES

  • A Valid RPAL
  • Membership at a CCFR Insured Club/Range

RSO INSTRUCTOR TRAINING COURSE:

OVERVIEW

The CCFR Range Safety Officer Instructor course is a two-day program designed to take you through everything you need to know to act as a RSO as well as teach it. Through this course you will receive the foundation of running the firing line for the safety and enjoyment of all and learn to teach the course to RSO candidates.

  • Immediate Actions
  • Range Construction
  • RSO course teaching presentations

BENEFITS INCLUDE

  • Content created by an experienced firearms instructor with military background
  • Access to CCFR trainers for assistance and clarification throughout the course
  • Certificate and RSO patch issued upon course completion

PREREQUISITES

  • Current CCFR Member
  • RPAL holder
  • Significant experience in firearms handling and operation (familiarity with various type of firearms and actions)
  • Proof of current teaching experience (not just bringing new shooters to the range) or equivalent experience (LE, Mil, etc)
  • Membership at a CCFR Insured Club/Range

The RSO and RSO Instructor courses are not offered to the general public or on an individual basis. If you are a CCFR insured club representative and wish to host either course at your club please contact rsoinfo@firearmrights.ca for more information. These courses are offered to all CCFR insured clubs at no additional fee.
